I’m passionate about humanizing complex tools and building intuitive products.

As a strategic UX design leader with a Master’s degree in UX and 7 years of experience, I’ve successfully led the end-to-end design of IPTV streaming apps, revenue management software, online learning platforms, and more.

At major corporations and the Ontario government, I’ve spearheaded UX projects that reached vast audiences. In startup environments, I’ve demonstrated the agility to strategize limited resources and drive impactful results.

HOW my UX JOURNEY BEGAN

I worked as a business analyst for a small team, where I had to wear multiple hats. That’s when I had to act as a UX specialist for our gamified e-learning app. Having no prior design experience, I turned to the good old internet. That’s when I stumbled upon Don Norman’s lecture on good door design. If I have to point to one moment that changed my life, I would pick this one. At the end of the 5-minute video, I was in love with UX.

I started implementing all my learnings into our design process. As a result of the changes we made, we increased our user retention rate of the app from 41% to 78%. When I realised what a little bit of UX could do to a product’s success, there was no turning back. I got absorbed into the world of UX.

HOW I NURTURED MY PASSION FOR UX

After having learnt everything about UX Design through experiments (read: mistakes), I was determined to get a strong foothold in UX and joined University of Toronto.

At University, I was determined to not restrict myself to classroom learning, so I teamed up with ASAAP (a Toronto-based NGO) to help them improve their blogging website, worked with UofT’s Innovation Hub and Learning Abroad teams to capture their user’s journey. I also did an 8-month coop with Ontario Digital Service as a UX Researcher and collaborated with Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Attorney General to make online government services better.

Upon graduation, I joined Seekamentor, an early stage startup, and helped design their online mentoring platform. I’m currently working as a UX Design Team Lead at Enghouse, designing B2B apps ranging from an IPTV streaming service to alarm monitoring system.
